Pre-War Gibson 1939 L-50 in all original condition. There are no cracks and have been no major repairs. Serial number on back of headstock reads EG-52xx. Arched maple back with spruce top and maple sides. Mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and bridge. Original raised diamond tailpiece and strap button. This loud articulate archtop has the typical v-neck for this model during this period. 25 1/2 inch scale. 16 inch lower bout. 1 3/4 inch wide at the nut. There is moderate pickwear on the top of the guitar, including finish crazing and scratches. The back and sides show minor wear considering the instruments age. There is some wear on the neck that runs along the apex of the "v." The action is perfect with the neck being remarkably straight. The original chipboard purple lined case is not in great shape. One of the hinges is loose and it struggles lid to close. There is some spooning on the fretboard around the first, second, and third frets but no enough to affect how the guitar plays. This guitar came from the family of the original owner.
