- What condition your instrument is in is the single most important aspect of assessing its value.
- Look instrument over carefully for wear, cracks, dings, dents and missing pieces or replaced parts. (take pictures of all)
- Does your instrument have a case. Having a case for your instrument adds value and instruments that have cases are almost always in better condition than ones that don't. Be sure to note or take pictures of the case.
- Natural lighting (if possible) is always best assessing wear and condtion
- Essential pictures of an instrument are: front, back, sides, neck, logo, model/serial number, case.
- More pictures are better than too few.
- Details of how and when you came into your possession of the instrument such as: purchased new, bought used, inherited from family.
- This information helps provide a clear picture of your instruments journey and proof of ownership.
